A few years ago when this Teal Stone Homestead Rabbit Hutch was built it looked beautiful and worked fantastic. Later, there is a new video that shows the cage being disassembled. I noticed that the urine from the rabbits had damaged the paint in sections and wood was beginning to rot.

My suggestion would be to seal the wood with wood sealer before painting. Do you have any thoughts or advice about this?
